Oranje alumni Alia Marshall and Kayla Blas represented the U.S. at the Junior Pan American Championship in Santiago, Chile from August 21st to 28th. After winning the opening game against Chile, team captain Alia Marshall gave a post-game interview with PanAm Hockey Federation. The Junior U.S. Women’s National Team went on to finish at the top of their pool after a 15-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago. They earned a bronze medal after a close game against Chile and will go on to compete at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in South Africa in December.

Junior Alia Marshall is also making a statement at Northwestern University. As a sophomore, she was second on the team in assists and as a freshman, she started 20 of the 22 games she appeared in. Previously, she was on the U.S. U21 National Team and she was recently named to the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Fellow teammate Kayla Blas is gearing up for her senior season. As a junior captain, she earned First Team All-Big Ten honors, NFHCA First Team All-West Region, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, and NFHCA All-American. She earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors as a sophomore and was ranked second on the team in assists. Kayla has started every game possible for the Wildcats. She is a two-time recipient of the Sannie van Dijck Player’s Player Award. As a member of the U19 National Team, she went on tour to Ireland and Germany in 2019. In 2021, she was a member of the U21 National Team.
